Institute for European Cooperation facilitates cooperation among municipalities, business entities and other organizations operating within the Czech Republic and their partner organizations in countries of the European Union. The IEC promotes collaboration by creating and participating on dissemination of the best standards and practices in various areas of human activity, as well as providing assistance in creation and proliferation of innovations and the most up to date knowledge, all the while supporting the forming of high quality collaborative networks among interested parties.

IEC is an innovative financing specialist experienced in developing methodological instruments for innovative financing, including new financial instruments, energy performance contracting in combination with EU funding, crowdfunding in combination with EU funds and other forms of financing.

The main means of meeting this objective is providing assistance with preparation and elaboration of grant applications for projects to be co-financed through the programmes, e.g. Horizon 2020 and other community programmes, programmes financed from the EU funds and other public funding schemes.

Overall, the IEC supports important innovative projects across various areas of the economy through elaboration of public grant applications. We partake in dissemination of information about public funding opportunities aimed at project development, including consultancy in relation to preliminary identification of project plan objectives. The institute’s function reaches further still in that it pursues various means of providing additional educational and training benefits for its clients, incl. release of publications and materials focused on public funding opportunities.

When evaluating innovative capacity of project plan objectives, the institute engages the Institute’s Council, advisory board of independent experts and leading professionals in their respective fields.

As a secondary function, the institute organizes training sessions and seminars, partakes in strategy planning and conceptual document formation, provides consultation, implements its own innovative projects and takes on a role of a Representative when dealing with the EU authorities.
